Pretty soon after we arrived in Waldport I became seriously ill. One of the symptoms of my regular neurological illness is photo and heat sensitivity. No that does not mean I'm allergic for having my photo taken ;-) but it does mean I'm allergic to UV rays. My body sees UV rays as invaders and ge into a full blown auto immune attack. The heat sensitivity causes my body temperature to rise. every grade that my body temp rises by symptoms increase with 10%. Within an hour or so I was covered in hives, inflamed joints and all more kinds of fun.
I could not go outside without being covered up from head to toe and I can tell you that's no fun in the middle of summer. The hives itched like crazy and the warmer I got the more they itched.
I stayed inside until the hives went down a bit abou 2 weeks and then discovered that parking at the river where there is a tide leaves the grounds wet and a great breeding place for mosquitoes and your guessed it, I am allergic to mosquito bites as well. On one arm I have 22 bites. They swell up to these ginormous welts that drive you insane with itch. My husband on the other hand feel the bite but not the itch. Lucky guy!
I had to stay inside. A trip from the trailer to the truck got me 3 new bites. As if they were waiting for me to go outside. I could not even sit on my beloved patio without being attached by them and nothing we tried to keep them away worked. It was a miserable time.
After 4 weeks we left for another spot, we loved Chinook RV place, the dogs loved it and I have written a great review about the place. We hope to be able to come back in a time that mosquitoes won't be so prevalent.
We decided to move a bit closer to home. It is almost that time that Waldo needs to go back to work. This way we can leave and come back during the weekend and holidays. We went to a park that we have been before.
WIlson River Park in Tillamon River has a new owner and things have changed. We used to have a spot for two years for months at the forefront of the river parking along side the river. This meant that your patio face the river and we had lovely times relaxing and watching the bald eagles and fish life in the river.
But all that has changed now. No more taking up 2 spaces and pay for one ;-) Understandable of course but we liked it they way it was. ;-)
We now have a spot in the middle, a lot more busier than what we used to have. A pull through side often means people coming and going all the time. Luckily we have more view here when we have neighbors than we had in Waldport.
Internet is a lot slower than in Waldport too, it often just falls of the radar. I will upload our Waldport photos as soon as I'm home and have sifted through them. At home we have fiber optic, no complaints there. ;-)
Next weekend is labor day. No idea what we're going to do after labor day. I called around at our most favorite c=parks but all are just booked up till October. Bummer! One of the negatives of having a big rig.
We'll just have to wait and see, maybe something comes up.
